

I wanted to always be surrounded around vocalists so that I could grow as a singer, and that’s how RichGirl was conceived. But, it was because of that environment that inspired my dream of starting a girl group. I didn’t continue the journey as I was advised by my lawyer not to. They thought I was good enough to become a contestant, and I proceeded. I was in the early development stages, and sang the (The) Star-Spangled Banner as my audition. This new album is a perfect marriage of Hip Hop and R’n’b. With that being said, how do you classify your overall sound and/or style? I was (a) rapper and spoken word artist years before I began singing. I always loved the feeling I got from listening to Hip Hop driven music. When I was younger, I was highly influenced by rap artists Tupac, Biggie, (A) Tribe Called Quest…early Mary J. Now you are a native of Baltimore, MD, correct? So growing up in “Charm City,” who all did / do you consider to be your strongest influences?
